Payola All Over Again

Didja know the term “payola” comes from a 1960 federal law that made it a crime punishable by a $10,000 fine and up to a year in prison to offer money or other stuff to give records, usually bad records, airplay. “Payola” is a contraction of “pay” and “Victrola” record players. First off I didn't know it was illegal, I thought was how it worked, you pay to be played. Elliot Spitzer, thankfully knows the law better than me. If this guy doesn't run for President at some point I'd be very surprised. He can do no wrong it seems.
